At the age of 12, Miguel went to live on the streets of Quito, Ecuador. At the age of 16 he began living in Casa Gabriel, a home for former street boys. Miguel developed a desire to help people in similar situations of poverty and need. He founded EsperanzArt, together with his Dutch wife Desi as a vocational workshop for girls rescued out of the sex trade. Their desire is to provide practical job skills and share Jesus through friendship evangelism. They continually seek God's guidance in better shaping the ministry and are excited to see what God will continue to do in their lives and in the lives of the girls.
